You will one day find my albums in the racks of your favorite record store. Till then, get it online at www.mrdelonso.com. That's self promotion, I got to do it.
In a typical day, like most people, I have to balance my energy and focus into my day job, my wife, my baby boy and my music career. Unfortunately, my music has to get the short end of the stick. At work, I give 110% to ensure the work gets done, my team members are happy and the guest are satisfied. I do this eight hours a day, 40 a week. Home life is cool. I'm married and for those that are married, you know how that goes. One day I'm going to do a blog on " why is marriage so much work". Or if you know someone who has written a blog on the matter, let me know. I also have a beautiful 18 month old boy. He doesn't have blood running through his veins but Red Bull. I love his energy, curiosity and love that he has. I do my best to give them both all the quality time they need. It's not till 11 or midnight that I can concentrate on my music. Presently, creating a company to release my album and other projects (books and charity organization). Please don't take this as me complaining. I love my life, would change a couple of things. But, I'm working on that. Time management and down right procrastination are my demons, that I'm trying to rebuke. Hallelujah! Sorry, I had a spiritual moment. I do a to-do-list everyday, but there's no penalty for not completing it, except a personal sense of disappointment.
Question Time???????????????????????? Would it be selfish of me to take a day or two a week to myself and work on my company and music? Who out there know what I'm talking about and have little antidotes or advice for me. Or if you're in the same boat, let's help each other. To all that read this, thanks and tell a friend or two.
I love reading blogs and I'm really trying to write more blogs. Having such a busy schedule, when I have a minute at the computer I read other people's blog for encouragement and sometimes humor. In the near future I will start commenting on the blogs I read to let the people know someone is reading their works. Writing my own blogs will be coming soon as well. Does this count as a blog? If so, I'm already on my way. Thank you Vox community for taking the time to read my blogs, write your comments, listen to my music and lust over my pics(hahahha).
Mr. Delonso
There is so much work to be done in releasing your album. Making sure the music is polished, how to promote the website, branding, legal work, developing a following, etc... Not to forget raising and supporting a family, going to the day job, using all the money earned to pay bills and budgeting the remaining amount (very small amount) toward your project. I know there are thousands of you on Vox experiencing the same trials. Why do we do it? For the love of our craft and personal fulfillment it brings to us. If you are like me, you have a long list of goals and duties you need to accomplish. Simplify it! For each day, develop a Top 3 or 5 objectives list you want to complete by day's end. And don't worry about the other chores you have, they will soon make the Top 5. So when you wake up in the morning (for those who sleep) review your list and tell yourself this is what I'm going to accomplish today and make it happen. I'm starting Tuesday, join me and let me know later how it's going. Well, gotta go junior just woke up and one of us did a stinky.

P.S.
It wasn't me, seriously!
This is my first blog, ever. I often have a lot to say or that's on my mind, but find it difficult to write my thoughts out in a coherent matter. The biggest struggle I'm having is truly being myself as far as branding/marketing my music and myself. Versus, trying to project an image that gets a more immediate and positive response. I produce and create music that ranges from lounging with your friends in your loft to sweating it out on the dance floor. If you look at most, not all, the DJ's and producers that produce electronica, they have untouchable, unapproachable, party like a rock star but not with your crowd persona. Which is cool in a way, but I like to party like a rock star with everybody. Bowling, karaoke and doing stand up comedy are some of the things I like to do. What I'm trying to convey is this, would my music be taken less seriously if all the activities I'm involved in are apart of my branding and marketing plans. If BT or Jay Z were just starting out now and were doing the same things as me, would their music be taken as seriously. I hope this all makes sense. Any comments and suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading my first blog ever, more to come...
I think you proberly right. I reckon I need to get a few people to come and create an atmosphere.... read more
